Ah, now I understand what you're asking. Check the first paragraph in
section 2.3 of the Padhye paper, and I think you'll find that their W_max
parameter is that receive buffer that I was talking about. You can easily
get this value from your packet traces by looking at the advertised window
in the initial TCP segments from each connection in your trace file. Hope
