Subject: tcptrace TRAFFIC Module and Detailed Analysis - Dupacks Date: Fri, 21 Nov 2003 18:08:15 +0100 Message-ID: <E9110ECF9EE9434C8A675687DAFD2FF2CCC193@miebe001.europe.nokia.com> From: <Giovanni.Giambiasi@nokia.com>
Hi,
I am testing performance of TCP over wireless. At the moment I am using Tcptrace version 6.2.0 for Windows.
I have a couple of questions about the information regarding the amount of duplicated acks.
If I analyse a dump file with the detailed analysis options (tcptrace -lr <dumpfile>) I can see the amount of dupacks for each TCP connection.
If I use the TRAFFIC module on the same dump file (tcptrace -xtraffic <dumpfile>) I obtain rather different results.
I attach two files: as you can see in the traffic_stats.dat files tcptrace tells me that 1 dupack was seen in the dumpfile, while analysing the detailed statistics there are much more dupacks than in the previous file).
Could someone explain this behaviour?
Thank you in advance.
BR,
Giovanni
