    Hi,

I am dumping and analyzing the TCP packets from a fixed host to a mobile
host connected via Verizon wireless network using 1xRTT CDMA data service.
I run tcpdump on the mobile host, and try to DL some file from the
    fixed host using FTP service.

I want to collect the packet loss rate information like this :
retransmit packets / total packets sent out * 100%
this is not perfectly equal to the packet loss rate but can give us an
idea on the order of loss rate.

However, when I analyzed the packet loss rate using dump file on sender
side and receiver side, two totally different # appears.

How can I compute roughly the packet loos rate?

    Thanks in advance.

    Minghua
