    Hi, everyone,

Can anybody talk about trace driven simulations? I would like to know
what traces can be used in these simulations, what softwares support these
simulations, and whether or not these simulations are interactive.

By interactive, I mean in the case the simulation algorithm needs to
do something that is not recorded in the trace, will the algorithm do it
or just ignore it and take the next event in the trace. For example, at time
t in the trace, a packet should be transmitted, but after taking the
events before t in the trace, the simulation algorithm decides a timeout.
Will the simulation algorithm stay idle for a timeout, or transmit a
    packet?

One example is good enough for each question. I am not going to have a
    survey.

        Thanks!

    Sincerely yours,
    Liangping Ma
